Zimbabwe were grouped in Group B of the tournament together with Netherlands, Ireland, UAE and Vanuatu.

Group A has Sri Lanka, Thailand, Scotland, Uganda and US.

The global qualifiers are set from April 25 to May 7 at two venues Abu Dhabi namely Tolerance Oval and Zayed Cricket Stadium.

The Lady Chevrons begin their campaign for a spot at the 2024 ICC Women T20 World Cup to be hosted by Bangladesh with a date against Vanuatu on April 25 at Zayed Cricket Stadium before playing UAE at Tolerance Oval two days later.

Zimbabwe will face Ireland in their third group match at Zayed Cricket Stadium on April 29 before rounding up their group B matches with a date against Netherlands on May 1 at the Tolerance Oval.

The top two teams from the two groups will progress straight to the semi- finals of the Global Qualifiers.

The two finalist from the Qualifiers will automatically qualify for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup joining the top six teams from the T20 World Cup in 2023 in South Africa, Australia, South Africa, England, India, New Zealand, and the West Indies who earned direct qualification for the 20-over showcase.

Bangladesh qualified as hosts while Pakistan booked a place at the World Cup by virtue of their position in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings.

ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley believes the Global Qualifiers will be highly competitive as ten teams battle out for two spots at the World Cup.

“We are looking forward to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier as it is going to be a highly competitive and exciting event with 10 teams battling it out for two World Cup spots in Bangladesh later this year,” said Tetley.
