The woman facing charges of corrupting children and exposing two young girls from Mabelreign to prostitution has been granted bail and remanded to October 1 this year

Sharon Chiropa (23), who was remanded in custody on her initial appearance in court on July 13 this year, was granted $2 000 bail, on August 6.
The bail conditions require Chiropa to continue residing at her given address, which is 3793 Unit D in Seke and is not supposed to interfere with witnesses.
She was back in court last week on Monday and Wednesday before she was granted bail on Thursday.
Chiropa was staying in Mabelreign when she made her first court appearance on July 13.
According to the State, on the first count Chiropa is accused of exposing a 15-year old minor to prostitution.
“In the period extending from 6th June 2020 to 10th day of July 2020 and at Albury, Mabelreign, Harare, Chiropa, unlawfully caused a child aged 15 to prostitute or solicit for men,” reads the State outline.
On the alternative charge, Chiropa is accused of allowing the girl into her place of residence also for purposes of prostitution knowing that she was under 16.
The complainant lives in Greencroft, Harare and is a Form Three student at a local college while Chiropa stays along Albury Road in Mabelreign, Harare. The accused and complainant are not related.
It is the State’s case that on the July 6 2020 at around 1700 hours, the complainant was in the company of her 14-year-old friend when they met Chiropa.
“The accused person seemed to know the complainant’s friend and they began a conversation.
“The accused person then told the complainant and her friend to escort her to Gucci Bar in Greencroft so that they solicit for men and make money.
“On arrival, the accused person told the complainant and her friend to sit where they can be visible to potential clients.
“The accused person also told the two to lie to clients about their ages.
“The accused person then took the complainant and her friend to her cabin where they spent the night,” reads the State outline.
On July 9 2020, Chiropa took the two girls to Home Ground Bar in Sunridge where she told the two that she had found clients for them.
“The accused person was then paid US$10 by a man only known as Maglass so that he can have sex with the complainant.
“The matter came to light when the complainant’s mother was looking for her daughter and saw the accused person wearing the complainant’s dress.
“She took her to the police and upon interrogation and investigation, the complainant and her friend were found at Alton Madyara’s house,” read the State outline.
On the second count, Chiropa is accused of causing the other girl aged 14 to also solicit for men for purposes of prostitution.
It is alleged that between July 6 and July 10, Chiropa unlawfully permitted the girl to stay at her house for the purpose of engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with men or prostitution knowing that she was under 16.
The 14-year-old girl stays in Mabelreign and is a Form Two student at the same college with her 15-year-old friend.
Chiropa met the second complainant at Mabelreign shopping centre in May and had a small conversation.
When Chiropa later met the second complainant in the company of the first complainant this month, the two told the accused person that they were being abused by their relatives and had intentions of running away from their homes.
“The accused person offered to stay with them on the condition they target wealthy men and get paid for sex.
“The complainant and her friend decided to run away to the accused person’s house or cabin.”
On arrival at her house, Chiropa gave them water to bath and a drug known as “mutoriro” to take before taking them to Gucci Bar in Greencroft and on the other day to Homeground Bar in Sunridge to solicit for clients.
Chiropa is alleged to have arranged for the 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual intercourse with one Elias Chikakayi.
