IT will yet another dry weekend in Harare as council has advised residents it will be shutting down Morton Jaffray and Warren Control Waterworks to carry out some works at the two water plants.

In a notice to residents on Thursday, council said the waterworks will be shut down from Friday December 3, 2021 to Sunday December 5, 2021 to allow the municipality to carry out some works on the Warren Control Pump Station and on the new line that will supply water to Hopley high density suburb.

“The works are expected to improve the mechanical performance of the newly installed pumps at Warren Control and also allow Hopley to start accessing water. The shutdown will enable the department (of water) to undertake repair works at three points on trunk mains to reduce physical water losses currently obtaining in the system. Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly during this period,” read the notice by Acting town clerk Engineer Phakamile Mabhena Moyo.
