This will come as good news to local gospel music followers as the iconic music star is loved the world over.

According to the show organisers Set-Up Events, the VVIP package will come with a meet-and-greet dinner with Pastor Travis Green after the concert.

In an interview, Set-Up Events public relations and communications manager Rudo Magwenzi she said tickets to the multi-award-winning gospel singer Greene’s show in Zimbabwe are now officially on sale. Gospel music lovers  can buy their tickets from Wordwide bookshop Celebration Centre in Borrowdale and Word Pharmacy in Harare’s central business district.

“Tickets have already gone on sale and we can see the excitement in people as they look forward to Pastor Travis Greene’s ministration. Travis Greene who recently performed in Zambia is an American singer who grew up in culturally diverse regions and experienced various church denominations, and has ‘embraced his unique’ call for adaptability. The singer-songwriter incorporates several genres into his sound,” she said.

The organisers went on to say that they are currently in the process of carefully selecting local gospel artists who will be part of the line-up at the show.

“We are working on a list of local acts that will cater for a wider audience and we will release the names once finer details have been completed,” said Magwenzi.

General access tickets will start at US$30 per individual while for a VIP ticket one would have to part with US$60 with the VVIP costing US$100.

Following his emergence in 2007, Greene has gained wide acclaim, topping the Billboard gospel charts with 2015’s “The Hill.”

The album spawned several Grammy-nominated hits, including “Intentional” and “Made a Way,” the latter of which stayed at number one on the Hot Gospel Songs chart for 13 weeks.

In 2016, the singer and his wife, Dr Jackie Greene, launched Forward City Church in Columbia, South Carolina, which he describes as “a church for the unchurched and over-churched.”

While pastoring the quickly growing congregation at home and extending scholarships and mission work to thousands of people in Africa, Greene also embarked on a world tour. He brought his cultural boundary crossing music to many African countries, including Nigeria and Ghana, the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica, Dubai, London, Montreal and Toronto.

Growing up with a mother who was a minister and choir director, Greene says that gospel music was like oxygen in their house.

He said it was always part of his life and no artist inspired him and strengthened his passion for God more than 12-time Grammy winning legend Kirk Franklin.

Now an inspirational trailblazer in his own right, Greene’s masterful fusion of music and ministry these past few years prompted Franklin to anoint him as one of the artists who are the “future of gospel music.”

At the 2017 Stellar Gospel Music Awards, Greene won in seven key categories including Song of the Year (“Made A Way,” which also hit number one on the Hot Gospel Songs chart), Male Vocalist of the Year, CD of the Year (The Hill, which also reached number one on the Top Gospel Albums chart), Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year, Contemporary CD of the Year, Recorded Music Packaging of the Year and Praise and Worship CD of the Year.
