ZRP District Crime Liaison Fundraising committee thanked all those who donated to the worthy cause as the vehicle was desperately needed and will serve all Harare residents.

The committee thanked the generous sponsors who helped to make the vehicle donation a reality and also highlighted that there is a second brand new vehicle that was also pledged for the police.

“We recently held a handover ceremony for the vehicle that we as Harare Suburban District (Crime Liaison Committee — DCLC) fundraised for in April, for ZRP Harare Suburban District. Some of our generous sponsors were in attendance. Commissioner Tembo and Dispol Chief Superintendent Chuma, were there to officially accept the donation. Most Officers in Charge from Harare Suburban District were also there, including our ZRP Borrowdale’s Inspector Tatiwa. The chairman of our fundraising committee, Mr Blessing Sithole gave a great speech. He is also a BCLC (Borrowdale Crime Liaison Committee) member.

There is a second (new) vehicle that was pledged, which is still in the pipeline,” said Borrowdale Crime Liaison Committee member Mrs Pat Townsend.

Added Ward 18 resident Mr Herbert Mashanyaire: “We want to thank to all those who contributed to this donation. Well done. I was involved with similar donations before. The next important issue is to ensure the vehicle is well serviced and in good running order.”

The car will be a ZRP vehicle and the police will be responsible for the its upkeep and maintenance.

Superintendent Chuma emphasised in his speech that the upkeep of the vehicle was of the utmost importance to prolong the life of the vehicle.

Residents were applauded for their fruitful efforts and work towards community support.
