THERE will be service delivery meeting for Ward 41 residents at St John’s High School in Emerald Hill on Saturday July 23, 2022.

Ward 41 Councillor Kudzai Kadzombe urged residents of the ward to get involved in taking ownership of the ward’s affairs by participating at the service delivery meeting.

In recent weeks, the City of Harare has been holding service delivery meetings to afford residents an opportunity to raise concerns with their councillors and council officials.

The meetings are also meant to document the challenges ratepayers are facing in terms of service delivery and find ways of improving services.

The Ward 41 meeting starts 1000 hours and Cllr Kadzombe, Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume and senior council officials will be in attendance.

Cllr Kadzombe encouraged residents to come in their numbers so that the local authority can know the challenges they are facing and the suggestions that the people have to improve service delivery.

“I urge every Ward 41 resident to attend our service delivery meeting so that we can know where we are and how best can we move forward. On the agenda we are going to talk about the informal traders, social services, health facilities, refuse collection, rates, water, sewer, development control, roads, street lights, transport and security,” said Cllr Kadzombe.

She said council heads of departments have confirmed they will attend the meeting while power utility ZESA Holdings, public transporter ZUPCO and the Zimbabwe Republic Police officials have also been invited.

Lack of refuse collection, water woes and electricity problems are some of the issues Ward 41 residents have been constantly complaining about.

Suburbs under Ward 41 include Marlborough, Marlborough Red Roofs section, Bluff Hill, Avonlea, Ashbrittle, Westgate, Good Hope, Willow Creek, Emerald Hill and some parts of Tynwald.
