At least 150 couples attended Thembie’s Sweets n’ Savouries inaugural cake expo held in Hillside last Saturday with the aim of creating unique wedding services for couples.
The event was auspicious with Thembie’s Sweets n’ Savouries showcasing top notch wedding products and services.
They showcased any array of and wedding packages from food, cakes, photography and cocktails.
In an interview, Thembie’s Sweets n’ Savouries managing director, Sithembeni Zinyengere said they were happy to have had a huge turnout at their first event.
This is our first event focusing on weddings and we were mainly dealing with cakes, sweets and treats that we offer,” she said.
“Our main objective was to try and get brides for 2020 for us to see what services we can offer to them for their weddings to become better. In future, we plan on making this an annual event taking place around this time of the year.
“So far the outcome has been good. We have managed to get over 100 brides from across the city. We also offer cocktails, sweet corners which are trending in most weddings and desserts of sweet corners as well.”
Zinyengere said as a first event of its kind to be held in Hillside, they wish to grow and have more people especially those from outside the country to appreciate their beauty of having weddings in Zimbabwe.
“The main reason why we decided to do this was to meet the couples and hear what they want us to do which is specific to their wedding.
“Our targeted people are those in the Diaspora.
“We want them to come and have their weddings here and know that they can get the same kind of services here in Zimbabwe which is offered outside the country,” she said.
Thembie’s Sweets n’ Savouries is a cooking school and private functions company that specialises in pastry chef’s training, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, sweets and savouries.
