THE Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) will on Wednesday roll out a prepaid meter installation programme in a number of northern suburbs in Harare.

In a notice to its customers, the ZETDC said the prepaid meter installation programme will cover Mt Pleasant, Kambanji, Philadelphia, Ballantyne Park, Helensvale, Alexandra Park, Quinnington, Glen Lorne, Highlands, Greystone Park, Gunhill, Borrowdale, Vainona, Hatcliffe, Pomona, Chikurubi, The Grange, Reitfontein and the surrounding areas.

The power utility appealed to residents to allow its staff, who will be carrying company identification cards and putting on company branded clothing, access into their premises to facilitate the prepaid meter installation exercise.

“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to advise its valued customers in Harare Region (Borrowdale Depot) that it will be carrying out (a) prepaid meter installation exercise as from the 21st of September 2022. It is against this background that ZETDC is appealing to clients to allow our staff access to your premises and meter boxes during the above mention exercise.

“Our teams will be in their ZETDC branded work suits and will be in possession of official ZETDC IDs,” ZETDC said, adding that the exercise will be carried out during business hours between 0800 hours and 1700 hours.
