CRIMINALS are on the prowl at Mabelreign Shopping Centre where they are breaking into cars and stealing valuables such as laptops.

Of late, a number of thefts from vehicles have been reported with the thieves targeting motorists parked at Mabelreign Shopping Centre, the council clinic, Mabelreign District Office and the Mabelreign Library among other areas.
On Wednesday this week, a motorist is reported to have lost a laptop after thieves broke into his car while parked at Mabelreign District Office.
In a statement, Ward 16 Councillor Denford Ngadziore urged residents not to leave valuables in their vehicles.
He said recently there has been an increase in car break-ins.
“For a couple of weeks now, there has been a number of car break-ins recorded in the areas surrounding Mabelreign shops.
“The car break-ins seem to be happening during the day.
“Today (May 24, 2023) another case was reported at Mabelreign District Council Office.
“The victim had her laptop stolen from her car after thieves broke her car window,” said Cllr Ngadziore.
He said residents and council will be working with the Zimbabwe Republic Police Mabelreign, to find ways to reduce such crimes.
