ZIMBABWEAN hip hop artist Takura Bernard Shonhai commonly known as ‘Takura’ says he is excited about his debut live orchestra sax lounge session on Friday.

Takura says he has been planning for debut live orchestra sax lounge session under the “Live in Concert” banner at 7 Arts Theatre. Takura will be the main act at the show. He will also perform alongside other local artists, who include Anita Jaxson, Ishan and IamKing.

Speaking at a press conference this week, Takura described the sax lounge session as a dream come true as he has always wanted to try it.

“Live orchestra sax lounge concert is something that I have always wanted to try. This will be a different setting and I have been thinking about this show for some time now and I will definitely try to give the fans their money’s worth,” he said.

Organisers of the concert said this kind of set up has been the preserve of international artists among some promoters but they wanted to promote local musicians.

“These kinds of set-ups have been done for international artists. But as Live in Concert we would want to promote local artists first. So this Friday Takura will be live. The audiences will get to enjoy live music in concert. We want to share the idea and culture behind the concept.

‘‘We hope this will benefit participants in understanding how we have and will make an impact at local levels for the growth of the entertainment industry,” said the organisers.

The event will be hosted by Curtly Gwindi and Yahyah Good Vibes.

Tickets for early concert goers will be going for $15 while standard tickets will be going for $20. The tickets are available in all MedOrange pharmacy branches and doors will open at 18:00hours.
