Rockers Island held the inaugural annual spring festival at First Capital Sports Club in Mt Pleasant where 50 corporates participated.
Mr Mastermind Mutsau from Rockers Island Sound, Stage and Lighting told Suburban that the event is a networking event for small and big businesses.
“We came up with this idea because sometimes when we do those events, the concerts that we do, we do them at night and of course we get sponsorship and stuff but the sponsors don’t really benefit anything because people will be drunk and so forth.
“So we are trying to usher in a new era of events in which the corporate world and entertainers merge so that everyone gets what they want. The corporate world is looking to boost their products and at the same time the entertainers are looking at bringing entertainment to the people,” he said.
Mr Mutsau said they are planning to stage similar events four times a year in order to continue fostering a relationship between the corporates and entertainers.
“We hope that this also improves the quality of entertainment that we will bring to the people because obviously the corporates can afford the funding but at the same time, they may not have access to those crowds. We have access to those crowds but we do not have adequate funding,” he said.
