Parliament to deal with service delivery issues

A NUMBER of new laws to be introduced under the Legislative Agenda of the Fourth Session of the Ninth Parliament are expected to improve service delivery to citizens.

According to the Legislative Agenda of the Fourth Session of the Ninth Parliament outlined by President Emmerson Mnangagwa when he virtually delivered the State of the Nation Address and officially opened Ninth Session of Parliament from State House last Thursday, several pieces of legislation cover service delivery issues and the new laws and amendments are expected to benefit residents by improving service delivery.

Among these are the Urban Councils Amendment Bill, Provincial Councils Amendment Bill, Regional Town and Country Planning Amendment Bill, Municipal Courts and Police Bill, Liquor Licensing Bill, Medical Aid Societies Bill, Health Professions Amendment Bill and Persons with Disabilities Bill.
