WARD 7 residents say the road markings along King George Road are wrong and confusing particularly on intersections.

King George Road in Avondale was resurfaced in February this year under the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme Phase 2. It cuts across other roads which include Cambridge, Aberdeen and Argyle.

When residents first complained about a month ago, the contractors made efforts to fix the mistakes.

However, residents say the attempts to fix the mistakes made them worse and they are now worried as the contractors are back on the road trying to fix the errors for the second time.

In an interview, Ward 7 Councillor Happymore Gotora expressed concern over the confusing road markings saying council has since been roped in to have the errors corrected.

“It’s unfortunate that the people who did the road markings did not do them properly especially at the intersections. They did not give allowance to vehicles which will be turning right and our guys are now working with the contractors to try and rectify this problem,” said Cllr Gotora.

Residents urged the authorities to take the corrections seriously before accidents start happening as a result of the confusing road markings.
