City of Harare shuts down water lines Council announces planned waterline shutdowns.

The City of Harare has announced planned shutdowns of the Letombo and Alexandra Park waterlines this week.

The first shutdown will be from Wednesday February 1, 2023 to Thursday February 2, 2023 to allow for repairs.

“We hereby advise you of an urgent total shutdown planned from 1600hrs tomorrow (Wednesday) to 1600hours February 2, 2023 and February 4 at 1600hrs to February 5, 1600 hours for Letombo and Alex lines respectively.

“The shutdowns are being carried out to allow our crews to repair the 750mm pumping mains near Houghton Park, an air valve at AFM Warren Park and within Warren Control largely to reduce water losses. Any inconvenience caused during the shutdowns is sincerely regretted,” the City of Harare said in a notice on Tuesday on its Facebook page.

The repairs will affect the following areas on February 1:

Willowvale

Highfield

parts of Mbare

Sunningdale

Msasa

Hatfield

Craneborne

Arcadia

Houghton Park

Southerton

Harare Hospital

Waterfalls

Graniteside

Hillside

parts of Eastlea and surrounding areas

On February 5 the affected areas will be:

The CBD

Milton Park

Westlea

Warren Park

Tynwald

Bluff Hill

Malbereign

Haig Park

Sentosa

Westgate

Alex Park and surrounding areas.
