The National Audiovisual Institute (INA) in France, with support from the EBU Academy, FIAT/IFTA and the FRAME Committee, is inviting applicants for a FRAME Mentoring programme.

Co-financed by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, successful applicants will be assisted by a mentor, a recognised European and international professional of the audiovisual archive sector, for six months. The objective is to help applicants to develop their professional project and career.
The mentoring programme includes:
l Monthly online exchanges with a mentor and other relevant experts, from June to December 2024.
l Professional immersion for two weeks at INA or with a mentor’s organisation, during the autumn of 2024.
l Accreditation to the next FIAT/IFTA World Conference, which will be organised in Bucharest, Romania, in October 2024, which will offer participants an overview of the latest trends in audiovisual archives and an opportunity to develop their network.
Note: All expenses (flights, hotels, lunches) are 100 percent covered by the programme scholarship.
For whom
FRAME Mentoring is aimed at all junior professionals in the audiovisual heritage field with less than five years of experience (in the same or in a similar position), regardless of their age, nationality, position or field of activity. The programme is primarily addressed to professionals involved in a project ongoing or to be launched soon. The mentee’s project could deal with (non-exhaustive list):
l Design and implementation of an archiving workflow.
l Collecting audiovisual archives.
l Preservation of audiovisual archives and physical carriers.
l Digitisation.
l Audiovisual and film restoration.
l Digital archive management.
l Digital archive long term preservation.
l Management, notably of an audiovisual archives department.
l Documentation.
l Implementation of a database and definition of data models.
l Rights management.
l Research and scientific access and projects using audiovisual archives.
l Educative access and projects using AV archives.
l General audience access project using AV archives.
l Production of audiovisual contents based on archives (film, documentary, digital and innovative contents).
l Post-disaster handling of collections.
How to apply?
Applicants should complete the application form before March 17. After this date, a jury will examine all applications received and select the two mentees. All applicants will be notified of the selection or not of their application.
